The Source Church Stirling

This name is a declaration of all we strive to express as a local church.

The word ‘Source’ is intended to point people directly to God Himself as The Source of everything. Indeed the conviction is that life can only truly flow from having God at its centre.

‘Source’ also indicates basis, foundation, starting place, cause, font or spring. Each of these concepts speaks to the church’s prophetic purpose.

Positioned at Stirling, this church is at the headwaters of many rivers and the source for much spring water. Water has always been associated in Scripture with the Holy Spirit. So its physical positioning, speaks of the church’s heart to be a wellspring, nurturing people with ‘Living Water’.

In declaring ‘The’ Source, focuses attention on God alone as The Source, rather than pointing to the church in itself.

‘Stirling’ is added to express this church’s calling to this region in the Adelaide Hills. In the future with God’s enabling, other churches may be commenced elsewhere and be named for their region.
