Thy Kingdom Come

Through this year we are exploring our Christian lives against the backdrop of what it means to be citizens of the ‘Kingdom of God’.

According to Mark’s Gospel, Jesus’ first public proclamation was, “The time is fulfilled and the Kingdom of God has come near; repent and believe in the good news.” (Mark 1:15) Jesus taught us to pray, “Thy Kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.” (Matthew 6:10).

I am so eager through this year for us to explore what it means to be part of the Kingdom of God, not in some esoteric or theological way, but practically, where the rubber hits the road in everyday life. The Kingdom of God is to be lived! Whilst the Kingdom of God is a future reality to be look forward to, it is also a present reality that is to be outworked.
