The church was commenced in 1959. It was one of the first churches of the CRC Churches International, which was then known as the Christian Revival Crusade (C.R.C.).

Beginning as a small rural congregation meeting in various country halls throughout the Adelaide Hills, the Stirling property was miraculously purchased in the early 1970’s. The church building was completed in 1975 at the present location of 2 Avenue Rd, Stirling.

Initially named ‘Stirling Crusade Assembly’, it became ‘Stirling Family Church’ in the late 1970’s. Throughout this time, it flourished as a local church in the Hills community, notably facilitating many people into ministry and missionary service. Outreach churches were commenced at both Mount Barker and Woodside and the congregation also supported the commencement of a church in the western suburbs of Sydney.

Missionary involvement continues to be a significant part of the church’s vision with both missionary interns and ministry teams now regularly connecting with Third World nations.

Over the years, many pastors and leaders have been released from the church to affect areas well beyond its original mandate to the Adelaide Hills.
